Hubby's friend from work brought us home some pizza from Star Pizza in Houston. Yum!! This was filled with SOOOOO much spinach!! The boys weren't too thrilled (although they loved the crust). It was very tasty!!

Casa Columbia Wednesday

We were going to have some salmon burgers tonight, but someone gave us a gift certificate for Casa Columbia that expires on Friday, so we'll be eating there tonight. I've heard their food is super yummy for a pretty low price. I can't wait!!

The boys lunches looked like this : Left over sweet potato/black bean mix, tostada chips, fruit snacks, nut mix:

Wahoo's Fish Tacos Friday

I made a big batch of pesto from my huge basil plant the other day. I also made some homemade pizza crust and froze it. Tonight was supposed to be pizza night, but the kids' school's Halloween party lasted longer than we had expected. We grabbed some tacos from Wahoo's and ate there. Budget broken, but the tacos were yummy!!

Here is what the boys have for lunch: Meatballs, Peanut Butter Granola Bar, Juice Plus+ Gummies, Pretzels, Apple, Grapes. At least they're getting a few veggies in their JP+ gummie!!

Uncle Julio's Enchiladas Friday

My parents ordered some Uncle Julio's enchiladas and heated them up at the Bed and Breakfast. They were pretty good. They kind of got dried out by the time they were heated the second time. We also had rice and beans as well as carrots and snap peas.

Takeout Pizza Friday

I know I had egg fried rice on the menu, but tonight was just not working out for me to be chopping veggies in the kitchen (and we weren't home long enough to sit while the rice was cooking). So I definitely blew my budget, but the East Side Pies Pesto and Mozzarella cheese pizza was sooooo good!! We all shared a garden salad before the pizza arrived too (even Chaz ate salad!!)

At least I was able to send my boys to school with some healthy food!!

P.Terry's and BBQ Saturday

The boys and their grandparents grilled some hot dogs, corn on the cob, and ate some yummy watermelon. Dad and I ate some vege (and regular) burgers and fries at P.Terry's on the way home from ACL. Yummy P.Terry's! I'm definitely going back there!!

Here is what I left for the boys to snack on for lunch too:

Festival Food Friday

We'll be at ACL tonight. We'll probably try to sneak in some fruit and a doctor's note showing that my son has low blood sugar. Who can resist a cute little sick boy? The ACL festival food isn't all that horrible, BUT you have to pay $10 for a single taco that won't get a family full AND you have to wait 30 minutes in line to get it. We'll definitely fill up before we get there and bring our alloted 2 bottles of sealed water with us.

Here is what Chaz requested for lunch... homemade banana bread, homemade zucchini muffin, and alphabet soup.

Here is the recipe for my grandma's famous banana bread:

Banana Bread Ingred:

1 1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Spry (butter)
2 Eggs
1 TSP Baking Soda
1/2 TSP Baking Powder
2 Cups Flour
1/4 TSP Salt
1 TSP Vanilla
2-3 Mashed Bananas
1/3 Cup Milk Soured with TBSP Vinegar
*1 Bag Chocolate Chips (*Optional)

Mix: Sugar and spry. Add eggs. Mix dry ingredients. Alternate mixing bananas and milk to rest. (*also, don't forget to add the chocolate chips if you make it with them!!) Bake 350 for 1hr and 15 min

Pecan Street Festival/Pizza Sunday

We didn't stick to our weekend menu plans at all. Things just kept popping up and preventing us from being home and grilling. Sooo.... the boys had some cheese pizza for dinner from East Side Pies, while dad and I went out to a birthday party where we each had a free slice of East Side Pies. So yummy!!

We spent way too much money on corndogs (ick) and tea (and beer) at the Pecan Street Festival.

Eating dinner at sister's house Saturday

My sister in law invited us all over to her house for dinner (too bad I had to do the concession stand at the UT/Rice game- I missed all the goodies). The boys ate shrimp and chicken just off the grill. I'm not sure if they had any veges or not, but I'm sure they were offered!!

I didn't partake in eating any hotdogs or nachos at the game, so I had hubby grab me a slice of East Side Pies for dinner. Yum.

Oh- and YES, UT did smother Rice.

Homeslice Pizza and Mac and Cheese Thursday

So our plans changed for the night, and we went out to have a few slices of pizza at Homeslice. It was pretty good!! The boys were starving before we could leave, so I made them some organic 365 brand mac and cheese before we left.

Tuna Casserole and Birthday Dinner Wednesday

I whipped up some tuna casserole for the boys tonight (I split the recipe and made two small batches- one is in the freezer for a later meal). I'm hoping to be taken out to a Primizie birthday dinner by my hubby tonight!! Are you jealous of the gorgeous roses I got? Thought so!!

This is what I sent Chaz to school with today. Hope he eats it!!

Primizie Going Away Dinner Saturday

I'm bringing Katie to Primizie for her last dinner in Austin. She'll be eating kimchi and dog in Korea tomorrow (well, the next day really).

We ate the GNOCCHI DI PATATA CON FINFERLO E MAIS with the Primizie Chips and sauces, and a bottle of Multipulciano wine. Yum!! We brought some cookies, some Frito Misto, and leftover Gnocchi home for the boys.

This picture is from the Primizie website

I love Primizie!!

School picnic food Friday

Back to school picnic means pizza, chips, fruit, fried chicken, and sweets. I guess it was the parents who provided all the food for this event.

Not very full, but pretty sick feeling.

Eating at the Neighbor's Tuesday

Wow... what a surprise!! Our neighbor invited the whole family over (Katie, the kids, and all) for dinner tonight. It was really nice. We had some yummy butternut squash soup (Cooper devoured it), some squash casserole, and some rice and chicken sausage. It was all really good. Then for dessert, we had chocolate pasta with ice cream, fruit, and whipped cream topping. It was so good. It kind of looked like this below pic, but only better!!

Now I have more cooking ideas and will definitely have to invite them over for dinner soon!!

East Side Pies Saturday

I've gotten lazy again (well, not really, we were out all day, the salmon never got marinated, and it looked like thunderstorms outside, so we decided not to start the grill- there's always East Side Pies!!).

Cheese and pesto. Unhealthy. The boys ate ramon and are in bed with fevers.

East Side Pies Pizza Wednesday

Thanks Erik for the pizza tonight. I forgot to thaw the salmon, the boys are going out to a concert tonight, and I am tired!!

Yummy cheese pizza though!!

Pei Wei Thursday

J and I split a Pad Thai (they no longer carry the Sabo Miso!! Ahhh my favorite!!) and the boys had chow mein noodles with chicken. We had a beer and a glass of wine, and with our free entree coupon, the entire bill was only $15. Nice. It's still more than I would normally spend on a home made meal, but the convenience is totally worth the price.

Leftovers from lunch and date night Wednesday

Thanks to Tita and Papa, we had some nice roll-up sandwiches left over from our pool day picnic today. The boys ate those up, along with some left over watermelon, pineapple, mandarin oranges, cheese, and Pringles.

Dad and I ate two slices of leftover jalapeno and pesto pizza from East Side Pies. We're going out for date night to balance our budget. You may notice more Ramon noodles for dinner in the coming months.

Pesto, black olive, and jalapeno Pizza Sunday

Again with the East Side Pies. We need to buy stock in that shop!!
